Airline Cover Letter Guidance
A cover letter is a short, focused introduction explaining why you suit a specific role at a specific airline. Keep it to one page, honest and tailored, and only use one if the airline invites it.
How to structure an airline cover letter
Opening: state the role you are applying for, where you saw it, and a one-sentence reason you are a good match.
Middle: give two or three specific examples from your experience that relate to the role, using real results where you can. Show you understand the airline by referring to something you researched on its official website.
Closing: thank the reader, say you would welcome the chance to discuss your application, and use a polite sign-off. Check spelling and the airline's name carefully.
Customising by role
Cabin crew: highlight customer service, teamwork, calm under pressure and languages. Pilot: summarise licences, hours and type experience briefly and refer to the CV for detail. Ground staff and airport operations: stress accuracy, shift flexibility and passenger handling. Aviation engineering: mention certifications, systems and safety procedures. Corporate roles: link your skills to the function's goals, for example finance, HR, sales or IT.
